It seems that the $220M that the Obama Administration requested for new planes wasn’t enough. The private planes are to be used to shuttle the congress and senate around in the lap of luxury. Now we find out that just before their recess, the House upped the amount to $550M for a total of 8 planes.
Just how out of touch are these people? Who do they think they are, spending our hard-earned taxpayer money like that? We’re in a recession and everyone needs to tighten their belts, especially dead-beat legislators who are spending our money — not theirs.
New rule: All legislators should exclusively use commercial flights — coach only. Let’s save the $550M and use it for something worthwhile. Certainly not for shuttling you dead-beat jack-asses around.
What happened to the Obama administration reining in this kind of flagrant, abusive spending? What happened to change?
